Every year at www.fairiesandfantasy.com I hold an art competition. Each year there is a theme, and the 2010 theme was “Under the Sea”, for which entries have now closed and I’ve made my decisions on the winners! As you can see it was a very difficult decision to choose, and above you can see the winner, 2nd place (there were no entrants under the age of 15, so that prize became a generic 2nd place prize!), and a number of other honourable mentions!
The winner of first prize this year goes to Lauren Small for her beautiful black and white portrait of a mermaid. I might be biased, I do love my graphite artworks, but this artwork took the prize not only for the look and quality of the work, but the sheer amount of detail and creativity of the piece.
