2011 Fairies and Fantasy Art Awards
Theme-
How Fairies Spend Their Time
I received lots of wonderful entries to the 2011 Fairies and Fantasy art awards. Below is a gallery where you can browse all of the entrants images. There was even a diorama entry (a few photos of it shown together in the galley) and a video entry! Picking the winners for this competition has never been so hard.
The Winners
Under 18′s-
Julia Zerebinski “The Dragon Rider”

I love the colours in this artwork and the relationship between the fairy and the dragon. Julia has a lot of potential as an artist! Special mentions also go to Jacqueline Dubois, just 11 years old, whose artwork reminds me of what mine was like at her age, and Danielle Taylor, with her very refined style.
For winning this category, Julia receives a cash prize of $50USD (paid via Paypal) to go towards some new art supplies, goodies from our website, or whatever she wants!

A very hard winner to pick! I loved so many of the artworks entered. I’ve ended up choosing this one as it is a great example of the contest’s theme, showing how fairies spend their time, as well as being a very skilled and detailed artwork in it’s own right. I also just love those little birds!
Special mentions also go to Oleksandra Barysheva’s brilliantly creative work, the beautiful artworks of Lucie Holíková, Melodie Pellizzer and Alexandra Pool’s artwork “Kiss”, which she explains as “How do fairies spend their time? Driving human boys crazy!”. And how can I not mention the truly whimsical and fun video by Kari Newman, viewable below?
The winner of this category receives a special Fairies and Fantasy Art Award Trophy! Along with their trophy, they will receive a cash prize of $50USD (paid via Paypal) to go towards some new art supplies, goodies from our website, or whatever they want! The winning artist will also receive an “Artist Spotlight” post on this website, coming soon!
