Artist Spotlight- Kate McCredie

Kate was the winner of my 2012 Fairies and Fantasy Art competition. I’ve seen Kate’s work around online before and always been impressed with her use of colour and her creativity.

Above are a small range of examples, but be sure to visit the links at the bottom of this post to see more.

An Interview with Kate

What themes/subjects do you enjoy painting the most?

Currently birds.  And trees.  Fantasy, esoteric, and environmental themes.

What do you want a viewer to feel or think when viewing your art?

Visually attractive but also resonating on an meaningful level.  I often like to ‘hide’ elements that aren’t seen or noticed straight away.

What do you love about being an artist? And/or what is most difficult?

I love being able to express myself in paint, craft, clay, and plants.  The most difficult part is finding the time to do it!  I have 4 children, am full-time Carer to my mother, and have a ridiculous number of pets that I adore!

In what ways do you share your art?

I currently have prints and product available through-
