Official Announcement- Mermaid Oracle Deck to be Published!

It has been discussed for a while, but it’s now official. I will be working with author Lucy Cavendish on a mermaid themed oracle deck for Blue Angel Publishing!

Lucy Cavendish is the author who did the guide book for the Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle with my art, plus many other fantastic books and decks, of course! I’ve already read much of the card descriptions for this mermaid deck, and they are so beautifully, well, mermaidy!

I love mermaids, and always wanted the chance to paint more of them. Now I have it, I’m pretty much just going to be painting mermaids for all of 2012! I’ve got a relatively short deadline to get the work done by, which will include at least thirteen brand new images. Many of my older mermaid images will become part of the deck, but will need some work as well. Some are quite old, and I will be giving them a little bit of a polish to bring them up to standard with the rest of the artworks. Here’s an example of what I mean using the Indigo artwork-

The mermaid oracle deck is planned for a March 2013 release. Don’t worry, time will fly by till then, I’m sure! as much as I still have a heap of work to get done before it can be released, I also can’t wait for it to be out! Getting my hands on the first copies of my Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle deck was so exciting, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the finished Mermaid deck too!

There is a little bad news with the good. For those waiting on my next novel in the Memory’s Wake trilogy, this work will delay it some. Between daily running of my Fairies and Fantasy business and raising my baby girl, I can only work on so many “Big Projects” at once. The mermaid deck has to take priority at this time. I will still be working on book two of Memory’s Wake whenever I can get time though!

For those waiting on the Lost Lands deck that I had worked on images for a couple of years ago, it won’t be going ahead. Having reviewed their plans, the publisher felt that a mermaid deck would be much better, which is why it’s being fast-tracked for publication now.

Now I have to get painting!
