10th Anniversary of Publishing Celebrations!

2021 marks my tenth year since I published my very first book, my novel, Memory’s Wake. And the start of my obsession with publishing and creating BOOOOKS!

Well, I suppose that’s not entirely true. I’ve always loved books, and have been creating them my whole life. I still have a handful of ones I made from as young as 6 or 7, wads of paper stapled together, contents hand-drawn in crayon. Putrid Puffin, who ate peas and muffins, was one of my early classics.

In high school I wrote my first unfinished novel of 19,000 words, and created a few completed comic books, one of which I even reproduced and sold early in my art career (Fallen). But Memory’s Wake still feels like my first real book. A labour of love of almost ten years in the making itself (most of that time spent in misguided world-building and not actually writing anything… much of which got thrown out when I spent the time to actually learn how to write a proper story). Anyway, once I decided I wanted that story that had been floating around my head so long to be a real book, I got stuck into it and got it done, and then in 2011, decided to self publish, because it seemed like the way of the future for authors. And it’s sure been a wild ride.

Since then, I’ve published a HEAP of books. More novels, plus colouring books, art books, and more. But Memory’s Wake will always be my first, special book baby.

    Hi Selina, well i’m not with you on this adventure since day one cause i only discover coloring for Adult on 2016 after came back from the Hospital who i had another episode of MS so as i was Paralysim at 89% was not able to continue created my Bead Weaving Jewels collections so i aske dmyself what am gone do and i discover this fantastic hobby who save my life cause i’m an Artist since ever not being able to created and Design’s was not an option for me so anyway this is where i’ve met you and fellin love with your Amazing Artwork which iu had lots of your fantastic coloring books and of corse i had subscribe to your newsletter so i know about your reading books and you will read on Youtube i live you a comment to have some FRENCH Editions of your reading books cause it’s not the same read a book then just chat as i do with you know,it would be a Dream come true if somedays you do the French version and every times i recieved your email i always say OK. or i will have to go take some english classes for being able to read in english which i would love too, cause the prizes of these books are much more cheaper and don’t have to wait a year after the french editions but with the Covid that stop me so wel see if things came back to normal i will do that!
    What you could do to celebrate this mileston well maybee a coloring book or two who would be kind of the magical way for the French people being part of your English books by coloring a story not shure if it’s a great idea but with everything else you do to Please your fans, don’t have a clue what else to suggest for me so Thank You so very much for these Fantastic Gifts you are extremely Generous a susual and wish you another 100 years of Novels cause i love so much reading books, my life would be very Dark if i was not able to read every single evening before sleeping so thank you for these grerat books you release to help us change hour minds specially with the covid 19 my reading books and coloring books was Life Saver to me.

      I’m so glad you’re enjoying Beshadowed! That series is special to me too. The Heartsblood series is more adult, with more romance, but not overly explicit (being as I have other young-adult books as well I’ve kept them not-too steamy). I hope you find that the balance works!

    Hi Selina… I’m a person who suffers from extremely bad anxiety (to the point where it can be extremely hard to leave the house and be in public). I have found that when I get to those extreme times that I can carry your coloring books and reading books and sit in the car and pull them out to help relax me and help me pull my mind back together… I usually start with coloring and then once I can focus on reading then I’ll pull out your book so I can escape to another world at the moment to calm my anxiety down so I don’t have to take my medicine and be all loopy in public… Your coloring books and art work have allowed me to go to some small events near home with my family and I would like to thank you for that… I don’t know if you know how much your work actually helps people like me so I wanted to let you know and again day thank you for everything… I look forward to all your future releases … Your the best Selina and please never stop doing what you do.

I get some anxiety too, mostly manageable but have had a couple of full blown panic attacks (wow, those are NOT fun, especially when you don’t even know what they are and what’s happening!). It means the world that my creations are helping people live happier lives!!!
